The AI Imperative
The annual Job Board Connects conference confirmed what many of us have suspected: the hiring industry is grappling with an integrity crisis. The widespread adoption of generative AI by jobseekers and the prevalence of auto-apply tools are fundamentally challenging the authenticity of the traditional resume.
If you can prompt an AI to create a resume perfectly aligned with a job post, or mass-apply to dozens of roles with a single click, the signal-to-noise ratio becomes unmanageable. Hiring companies are now deeply concerned that the resumes they receive no longer accurately reflect the applicant’s true skills or experience.
Geescore’s Answer: The Scoring Metagraph Ecosystem
At Geescore and My Jobscore, we recognized this shift early and focused on building a Scoring Metagraph that prioritizes the purity and integrity of the resume as part of a job application.
This is not a simple automated filter. Our Scoring Metagraph is a hybrid intelligence model that pulls derived parameters from the job posting and the resume, while simultaneously using AI to determine true suitability for a specific role and work domain.
Built-in Integrity: The Power of Modifiers
To tackle the AI integrity crisis head-on, our core score is enhanced by two powerful modifiers:
1. AI Fraud Detection: This system analyzes the submitted resume against the job posting to detect hyper-optimization. If an applicant used a tool to perfectly align their skills and experience with the job description, this modifier will flag it. It ranges from 0 (no fraud detected) to -7 (high optimization). This gives the hiring professional critical context.
2. Custom Scoring Modifier: Using advanced AI, we generate 6 simple, role-specific yes or no questions designed to probe weaknesses identified in the resume, test for required EQ, and understand suitability. The modifier ranges from 0 to +6 providing an immediate, easy-to-understand measure of a candidate’s fit for the specific role.
Looking Ahead: Verification and Visibility
We believe the direction is a scoring ecosystem heavily skewed to verification. We are developing the Reference Interview feature to formalize the process of checking references with former supervisors, confirming data, and getting deeper insight into a candidate’s professional profile.
Our system benefits both sides of the hiring equation:
• For the Jobseeker: We empower selectivity in submitting applications by sharing the score. We don’t want them wasting time applying to roles that are a poor fit.
• For the Hiring Manager: Our powerful dashboard allows clients to proactively find talent. You can check the scores of high-suitability candidates, even if they were just browsing and didn’t hit the “apply” button. If they’re registered, we can instantly score them.
